Daily Care
  • Return all equipment to its proper storage location after rehearsal
  • Wipe down mallet instruments with a dry cloth
  • Loosen snare strands on snare drum when not in use
  • Check for loose hardware or cracked heads before playing
Stick & Mallet Care
  • Store sticks and mallets in a bag, not loose in cases
  • Rotate mallets to even wear on yarn or cord wrapping
  • Match mallet hardness to the instrument and musical context
  • Avoid hitting the frame or bars of mallet instruments
⚠ Ask for Help If…
  • A drumhead is torn, dented, or warping
  • A mallet has exposed core or unraveling wrapping
  • Hardware is loose or a stand won't lock in place
  • Bars on a xylophone or marimba are cracked or uneven
